TIPS FOR PARENTS

What are good ways of helping your teenager prepare for exams?!

We saw the importance of sleep for the student in the very first article. Sleep is just one of several important, basic things required for a human being to perform well. What are some of the important basics?
            1. Sleep
            2. Food
            3. Exercise
           4.
Sunlight
            5. Relaxation (the opposite of tension and stress)
            6. Variety (of both mental and physical activities)
                 etc.

As parents, your first job is to make sure that your student child has all of these basics available in the right proportion. All the time. For example, just because exams are approaching, you cannot cut down on the student’s exercise or relaxation. They are as important for the brain’s proper functioning as energy (via food) is for an athlete or sportsperson. Will a sportsperson stop eating on the day of the sports event?!

In the next few articles we will discuss the other basics listed above.
